Chase McGee If that's everything in his power, then we need to re-evaluate the checks and balances system in this country. Jeremy Addis-Mills LGBTQ equality that is Jeremy Addis-Mills He totally needs to get a better story. If the Obama folks think they are going to win over the same and number of volunteers that helped in '08 by saying well the other guy is worse, I think they are mistaken. That strategy may get him their vote but their time...well that is a completely different thing. The administration needs a better ribbon to package this in. Chase McGee still volunteering with them, but... he and I are still on tense terms ever since that Bush Tax cut press conference. there are two points here. One is the messaging Axelrod used on The Last Word last night to address Dan Choi's comments. The other is whether he actually has done everything in his power. The first I think they are still missing the mark on. As for the second, I'm still not convinced of it simply because number one is so bad.I just don't want the American people to think he is ignoring the economy. I know as President, he can walk and chew gum at the same time. However, the public doesn't know that. The GOP will use it against him for the next 1.5 years. We need a second term to get the equality stuff done. But I do find it less cool to wear my Obama T-Shirt> What he said: http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2011/06/20/barack-obamas-devolution-on-marriage-equalityOnce again it comes down to how they are talking about it. It is going to take more than "I'm better than the other guy" to get volunteers on the streets. I'm not talking your occasional weekend warriors or political junkies. I'm talking th...e volunteers (from Texas and Cali) who I met in June of 08 in Florida, who were sleeping on the floor of a supporter's house, not getting paid and standing outside a courthouse in the summer sun to register and build support for Obama for months before he was technically in Florida. Those folks they are not going to be excited by this message. The administration is really bumbling through this whole thing. They need to turn the response into at least a coherent idea. I worry that the "I'm better than the other guy" is not going to be the argument that motivates folks to get out an help him win next year with unstable economy, economic anxiety and perceived global instability on the mind of voters.See More Dude a telemarketer called me from the Obama Campaign. They wanted me to give them 80 bucks. I told them I was going to go online and buy merchandise instead. Is it weird I was a little pissed about getting the call? I thought they were going to offer me a senior-level campaign position for no reason. Jeremy Addis-Mills Who knows maybe I'm just being a pouty marginalized Democrat
