What you're forgetting is that Americans don't listen to facts. Reason we have a country full of obese people who'd rather pop pills to shed weight then put the effort in. You can present your "elite" graphs and cited sources all you want, ...See More oh didnt know old W contributed that much i knew it was more didnt know it was double. it's also important to remember that much of what obama has contributed is maintainance fees on what W started just finished reading that entire post yep I did Im ready to leave this sick country. Obama sucks, Bush sucked, they all suck... all they care about is themselves... their reelection... and they pretend to be on the peoples side. SMALL government is the only answer... keep the corruption at a minimum... one term limit... and a consumption tax to keep it all fair. On average per year how much money has Obama spent? Governments cannot be limited [except, in the end, by economic reality which eventually catches up and causes them to collapse or to be replaced]. Other than that , governments cannot be limited, they never have been, and never will be. G...See More The country of Nevis. Our country was great til the progressives came in... I gave you an example, the country of Nevis. Exactly...and "Island of reefs and ruins." No modern, industrialized country can ever live up to the tea party hype of "limited government." Ken, are you serious?! Wow. That's like saying, "this country was great, until the blacks showe...See More "Until the progressives came in..." Wow, dude...intolerance and ignorance at it's finest... There's something about this small, sombrero-shaped island that grabs you. The c...See More I poop countries bigger than Necis *Nevis Don't get mad when I give you an answer you don't like. Nevis is not a 3rd world country either. I didn't say that I didn't like it...I said that it's not relevant...apples and oranges Give me an example of a country that has a "limited government" and provides you with the "wealth and prosperity" that you so demand. = Nevis Rofl@Ken Baker... Progressives also brought us prohibition (that went well), permanent income taxes and the federal reserve (another great success)... among many others... You are right, John...I'd actually love to live in a place like Nevis, for reals...We should send all teabaggers to Nevis and see what both America and Nevis look like afterwards...and Ken, really, dude...really... 1. Name calling of groups is not necessary. 2. Liberalism came from the 1700's and means libertarian or laissez-faire type of government. 3. We should really be talking about big government vs limited Government. 4. The tea party you ref...See More I'm not name calling, nor am I talking about intellectual conservatives...I am talking about the Becks and Limbaughs and mainstream TEABAGGERS in this country...there are plenty of incredibly stupid left-wingers, just as there are plenty of crazy right-wingers... I think the Becks and Limbaughs are intellectual too... just of a different opinion than yours. The problem with conservatives is that they want to conserve the status quo. They separate civil liberties from economic liberties. Jake would you support Obama taking the gold certificates off the Federal Reserves books and giving it back to the people? The Fed recently said it doesn't consider gold money. Maybe we pay off some of our debt with it instead of cutting programs. I dont know about ya'll, but I think the current fiasco with the debt ceiling makes us look quite pathetic to the rest of the world. And I really dislike this threatening old folks with their SS checks.... sick. It does make us look foolish, but the rest of the world knows that we have the reserve currency of the world. They look at us to be the policeman of the world and we have to be the policeman because we have to force countries to take our devalued currency by force and armed conflict. Example only 5 countries in 2001 didn't have a central bank linked to our fed. Iraq, Iran, Venezuela, Libya, and Nevis. The US government doesn't care what other countries think of us, we own them.

We were a limited government up until the 1930's and we were a pretty successfull nation till then. Our social programs didn't make our country great. They worked because our country was great to begin with. Now their growth is outpacing the growth of our economy in good times. Repuplicans were in charge for the civil war and the ending of slavery. The civil rights act was a bi-partisan vote. Democrats passed it with 60% support from thier members. Republicans passed it with 80% support from thier members.
