Every two years the media and our esteemed members of Congress throw around the word "lame duck." Urban dictionary describes a lame duck as, "an elected official whose term in office has not yet expired, but who has not been re-elected." During the lame duck session, generally the out-going party or officials begin the process of passing legislation that they were unable to previously because of the impeding election or, rather, lack of leadership.
A quick history of a lame duck session showed that since the passing of the 20th Amendment, the lame duck session ends on January 3rd at noon.
Seriously?

Fox and Friends Brian Kilmeade said, "not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslim." Of course like everyone else in the national limelight, he quickly turned around and spout out a halfhearted apology, "I don't believe all terrorists are Muslims. I'm sorry. I'm sorry about that if I offended ... or hurt anybody's feelings. But that's it." Now we must move on like it never happened.
Where did sanity go?

"I am not a witch; I'm you." I don't know about you, but I am nothing like Christine O'Donnell. Is it me or does it seem like this years cast of characters running for office are more ridiculous than ever before? I have never been one who screams to keep incumbents, but maybe just maybe in 2010, it would actually be a good idea.
We have one candidate who is refuting that she is not a witch, because Bill Maher played a clip from one of his old shows fifteen years ago. Why would you respond to that? Does she actual believe we think she is a witch?

Webster's dictionary defines respect as the condition of being esteemed or honored: to be held in respect.
"Iranians, because of our Islamic culture and our Iranian culture, have a very special respect for women," Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said. "We just dignify women, so the system decided that [Sarah Shroud] should be released."
Does he actually believe half the s**t that comes out of his mouth? Maybe Iranian citizens respect women, but no way in hell would I, or should anyone ever believe that the Iranian government actually respects women.

Mid term elections are almost here. The midterm elections! Midterm Elections! Woo Hoo. Wait, what? Does anyone really care? I consider myself pretty politically active, yet I can care less about politics these days. I can only imagine what the “first time” voters from 2008 are thinking.
As I was mowing the lawn this weekend, I realized that midterm elections are like cutting the grass. For two weeks you let the lawn grow, hoping that weed that you chopped down last time will cease to exist.

Last week while assisting a client at my bank, she asked me about my name and where I was from. She asked if it was safe to assume that I was a Muslim. I informed her that I was from birth, however, in fourth grade while attending a private Christian school I converted to Christianity, but now I am an agnostic.
We started to talk about Christianity, in hindsight was probably the worst thing to discuss with a client, but I made sure that she knew my views were my own and did not represent the company for which I am employed.
