The Right Way to Commemorate MLK’s “I Have a Dream” Speech

img credit:cdn2-b.examiner.comThe reverse racists are at it again! And all because Glenn Beck’s historic “Restoring Honor” rally will take place on the very same steps and very same day that Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech 47 years ago. Contrary to what the left will tell you, Glenn Beck is the perfect person to help commemorate MLK’s speech. Beck is a beacon of hope for those who strive to eliminate racial inequality.

Let me tell you why Glen Beck is the ideal spokesperson for civil rights and racial equality. First, last year Glenn Beck spoke out against racism by calling the President of the United States a racist on Fox News – what better way to end racism than by calling out America’s biggest racist. Second, Mr. Beck has compared the world we live in (one with an African-American President) to that of the Planet of the Apes – a clear attempt to unite the people of our world in peace and prosperity.

Lastly, Tea Partiers attending Beck’s rally have been told to avoid certain neighborhoods and DC Metro lines because Beck’s supporters may run into black people – an obvious attempt by Glenn Beck and his conservative bloggers to respect the boundaries of African Americans. Glenn Beck’s message will be inspiring! I hope all Americans will have the privilege of watching him speak if they cannot attend this rally. His message is to restore honor to our country. He will tell us that we must go back to the days where America was really great – the days of his childhood. Those were the days where there were far less mixed marriages, higher African American high school drop-out rates, and a segregated military. Beck will also give us a way of moving backwards – the right direction for this country at this time. We must repeal the socialist policies such as providing health care for millions of uninsured Americans (many of whom are black). Furthermore, we must reinstate Bush-era tax breaks for the wealthiest two percent of wage earners because we have seen how well that has worked over the past eight years.

Even if you could somehow misconstrue Beck as being a racist, the reverse racists are just trying to stir the pot again. The liberals claim that it’s inappropriate and insensitive for Glenn Beck to speak on that day and location because his political positions on issues are an affront to MLK’s message and teachings. I just want to tell all those wacky liberals to get over it! Moreover, we conservatives have been entirely consistent with issues dealing with insensitivity. For example, we have fully supported the construction of an Islamic Community Center two blocks away from Ground Zero. Ultra-conservative political commentator Laura Ingraham sums up our support for this Muslim center best. On a December 2009 appearance on Bill O’Reilly she said, "I can't find many people who really have a problem with [the Ground Zero Mosque]... I like what [they are] trying to do."
